Your tour starts in Reykjavík, where you can choose hotel pick-up or meet at BSÍ Bus Terminal. From there, a short drive takes you out of the city and into the wild surroundings near Hengill, one of Iceland’s most active geothermal areas.

At base, you’ll meet your guide, go through a safety briefing, and get equipped with all necessary gear. Once ready, you’ll head out on a one-hour ATV ride across varied terrain shaped by volcanic forces.

The route leads you through black sand tracks, lava fields, and open landscapes with wide views over the Hengill mountain range. Along the way, your guide will stop at key viewpoints and interesting natural features, giving you time to take in the scenery and learn about the area.
